Mijas once again hosts one of the special screenings as part of German Cinema Week, now in its sixth year and taking place from the 25th to the 29th of November. Organised by SUR deutsche Ausgabe (the German edition of the newspaper ‘SUR’ and its website), together with the Goethe Institute in Madrid, the German Consulate in Málaga and the support of the association Amigos del Goethe-Institut España, the event includes this screening, which will be held in the auditorium of the Mijas Town Hall, with free admission at 19 hours.

The film, entitled ‘Ungeduld des herzens’ (‘Impatience of the Heart’), will be shown in its original version with Spanish subtitles. It is a contemporary adaptation of Stefan Zweig’s novel of the same name, in which a young soldier pretends to feel something for a disabled woman, when in reality it is compassion. Only when he almost kills her with his care does she realise that she must take control of her life.

 

The event also features another special screening: ‘In liebe, eure hilde’ (‘From Hilde with Love’) on Thursday 27th at 19 hours, with free admission, in the auditorium of the multi-purpose building in Torrox Costa located on Avenida de Andalucía. As with all the films, it will be screened in the original version with Spanish subtitles. 

Nine films

German Cinema Week offers nine feature films at the Cine Albéniz in Malaga. On Tuesday 25th at 19 hours, there will be the opening ceremony and the screening of ‘Zwei zu Eins’ (‘Two to One’). This will be followed on Wednesday 26th at 18:45 hours by ‘Ungeduld des Herzens’ (‘Impatience of the Heart’) and at 21 hours ‘Sonne und Beton’ (‘Sun and Concrete’). On Thursday 27th at 18:45 hours, ‘Gondola’ and at 21 hours, ‘Rote Sterne überm Feld’ (‘Red Stars Upon the Field’). On Friday 28th at 19 hours, ‘Frisch’ (‘Fresh’) and at 21:15 hours, ‘Mit der faust in die welt schlagen’ (‘Punching the world’); and on Saturday 29th at 18:45 hours, ‘Vena’ and at 21:15 hours, ‘In liebe, eure hilde’ (‘From Hilde with love’).
