The Mijas Town Hall has set to work to improve the technical flooring in the ballet classrooms at the Manuel España Theatre, the Las Laguna Cultural Centre and the La Cala Cultural Centre.
The government team emphasises that this action will significantly improve the quality of facilities that were already showing signs of wear and tear due to constant use by more than a hundred people every week.
Specifically, the floors will be sanded, polished and varnished, and the skirting boards are also scheduled to be replaced. The entire project has been designed to restore the public facilities to good condition, facilitate their use by participants in the activities, prevent potential injuries and improve the public service provided by the Town Hall.

Years of use without replacement
This was announced by the councillor responsible, Silvia Marín (PP), who reported that these floors were in poor condition after years without being replaced. The Mijas Hall therefore decided to carry out this work using its own resources, as it is being undertaken by Operational Services.
"Those attending the classes had been demanding improvements for some time, and that is what we are doing. We are talking about floors that had not been changed for years, even decades, so it was an urgent necessity. The work is already underway and will be completed in all the facilities involved in the coming weeks", concluded Marín.
