‘Opposite Poles: The Universe Within’, by Karola Kalocsai, is the exhibition currently on show at the Mijas Art Centre, inviting reflection on the duality present in life. Watercolour features prominently in her works. The exhibition was inaugurated by two young artists, Karola and Santiago Javier, who came together through their creations, painting and music.
As explained by the head of the Art Centre, “the arts encompass many things: music, painting..., it is a whole, the language of our soul, and that is why we are here, because this is also the soul of the Art Centre”, said Pernille Knudtzon, president of the Mijas Art Centre.
The exhibition comprises 17 works that express the opposite poles of the universe beyond words. It invites visitors both to think and to feel.
“‘Opposite Poles’ explores the duality present in life, such as night and day, woman and man, water and fire, and I wanted to convey this duality through my works”, highlighted the artist Karola Kalocsai.
An artistic encounter that reached out to music through the guitar of Argentine musician Santiago Javier: “Karola invited me to add music to her space, and it is a wonderful opportunity to begin a friendship sharing our love for art", Javier said.
The exhibition will be open until the 15th of October at the centre run by Pernille Knudtzon, where visitors can also enjoy a variety of art disciplines and workshops for children and adults.
