The Las Lagunas Water Park closed its doors on Monday 22nd of September after a busy summer with many users and visitors. The Department of Parks and Gardens praised residents for their care and respect for the facility. The key to enjoying this attraction throughout the summer was everyone’s civic behaviour, which meant it never had to close for maintenance or system blockages. From now on, the leisure areas and children’s playground will remain open.
The councillor responsible, Daniel Gómez Teruel (PP), assured that “we are closing this water play area, but the rest of the park will remain open all year round. Everything has worked very well this summer. I would like to thank the residents and all the users for their exemplary behaviour. We have not suffered any damage. Together with the maintenance company, we have been constantly monitoring the park, and everything has worked perfectly. We haven’t had as many water balloons this year, which has helped a lot”.

This year, the park opened on the 16th of June, earlier than usual due to the high temperatures, and closed on the 22nd of September with the arrival of autumn and the return to school for the children. The park has kept its water area open from 10 to 20 hours, seven days a week. There was no damage to the equipment or the gardens, the maintenance services did not need to intervene due to system blockages, and there were no acts of vandalism.
According to Teruel, “children, young people and their families have come to enjoy this water park, and we are already working to ensure that next year we start with everything in order, painted, renovated and in perfect condition”.
