On Wednesday 17th, the Costa Women group in Mijas held a workshop entitled ‘Becoming, a workshop for the future self’, in which a group of North American women joined local participants. According to the organisers, the day began “with inspiration and connection” over a healthy and restorative breakfast.
This was the first meeting of the season for Costa Women Mijas, and it took place again at the Play restaurant, where the group usually holds its coworking sessions.
The founder of Costa Women Mijas, Ali Meehan, explained that “this is a special day in the programme because we have a visit from North American women who are on a retreat here and today they dedicated their day to meeting with us and discussing the future, both professional and personal”.
The Department for Foreigners supported the initiative of this group, which seeks to foster synergies between women entrepreneurs. The councillor responsible for the area, Mario Bravo (PP), attended the meeting. “Today, the group is focusing on a specific topic: how to improve their lives in the future, both personally and professionally. They are all businesswomen and entrepreneurs with different activities, but today they share the same goal: how to grow in life”.

Ali Meehan and Vesna Latinovic guided participants through a morning of vision, creativity and connection to align with their ‘future self’, set intentions and unlock their inner wisdom, all while enjoying a healthy brunch at one of the group’s partner establishments.
Some participants shared their experiences, including the Canadian personal trainer Pili Nemers. “I work in health and fitness, and my business is online. I empower women to be stronger and more confident so that they can fall in love with their bodies and their lives”. Ana María Ignat, owner of the Play restaurant, also participated: “We share the same values and believe women have many skills in the business world. That’s why we always support Costa Women and the initiatives of women entrepreneurs”.
Costa Women is a community of foreign women living here, aiming to maintain a network of personal and professional contacts to support each other and grow together. The group organises a wide range of leisure, social, sports, and networking activities.
