The La Cala de Mijas Youth Association, in collaboration with the Town Hall, is organising the Youth Week. From the 18th to the 20th of September, this group is offering a programme of activities for all ages, including sports, a party and a bingo game. Mijas is thus joining in the celebration of Youth Day, which the community is marking this month.
The presentation of the initiative, held for the first time in the municipality, took place on Tuesday at the Youth Department, located in the Manuel España Theatre in Las Lagunas, with the councillor for Youth, Melisa Ceballos (PP), and the secretary of the youth association, María López, who highlighted that "we have organised a fair of activities to mark the end of summer, with three days of activities for all audiences, from the youngest to the oldest".
The Youth Fair, as it is called, will kick off on Thursday 18th, at 19:00 hours, at the Francisco Santana ‘Paquirri’ football field in La Cala with a Bubble football game. "This consists of playing football inside an inflatable ball", López clarified.
On Friday 19th, at 16:00 hours, there will be a children's party in La Butibamba Park where, according to the young organiser from La Cala, "we will have face painting, bouncy castles and a variety of traditional games for the little ones".
Finally, on Saturday 20th, at 18:00 hours, the fair will close with a bingo game for all ages in the La Cala Branch Office Square, where there will also be food and music
Support
The Mijas Youth Department is collaborating with this initiative, which, in addition to marking the end of the school holidays, aims to promote community spirit. This was emphasised by the councillor responsible for the department, Melisa Ceballos, who assured that "we support and collaborate with all the activities carried out by the La Cala Youth Association, which are numerous".
The activities do not require prior registration and are open to all, except for Bubble Football, which is limited to children over the age of seven. The fair will also give out prizes thanks to the collaboration of local businesses. "There will be prizes and many activities so that on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, there will be different options for fun in La Cala. We invite everyone from all over Mijas to attend", concluded the councillor.
