The Mijas Fair has reached its halfway point, confirming what we had sensed from the outset: this year's edition is one of the most vibrant and well-attended in recent years. The festive atmosphere has been relentless, day and night, attracting locals, visitors and lovers of a good time.
Daytime fair
During the daytime fair, the gardens of La Muralla were once again filled with people eager to enjoy the music and cuisine of the various bars. On Tuesday, the band Kalima was in charge of getting the crowd dancing, as well as DJ sets. The day ended with a performance by the group Estoparte, leading into the night-time fair.
Night for the young
But if the day was intense under the sun, the night was no less so. The fairground was transformed into a spectacle with the staging of ‘Dioses de Egipto’, a visual and musical show that impressed with its originality, special effects and meticulous choreography, transporting the audience to the heart of Egyptian mythology, albeit with timeless themes and musical hits.
Electronic music then took over with a DJ party that had hundreds of people dancing until the early hours of the morning, featuring Javier Rodríguez, Rufino García from Extremadura, the energetic Inmita Palmera and the enigmatic MXNCH1. Each delivered vibrant sessions that fused current rhythms with a personal touch, delighting the audience, especially the younger crowd.
The Mijas Fair continues, and if the halfway point has been this intense, what remains promises to be even more spectacular.
Wednesday
This Wednesday, the party continues both day and night. Once again, starting at 13:00 hours, in the Jardines de La Muralla, music will be provided by DJs, the band Alboreá and the group El Callejón. While the adults dance, the little ones can have fun on various bouncy castles, specially set up for the occasion.
Save your energy for later because at 23:00 hours Melody will be waiting for you on stage in the Virgen de la Peña square. The artist will present her latest work, which is sure to show why she is a 'diva'.
