The first details of the 2025 Mijas Fair, which will take place from the 6th to the 11th of September, are starting to emerge. On the evening of Sunday 7th, the Queen and King of the Fair will be chosen, and registration to participate in this contest will open next week.
Starting on Monday 11th of August, the Festivities Departmen of the Mijas Town Hall will begin accepting applications to participate in this traditional event. To be eligible, candidates must have been born in Mijas or be registered residents of the municipality, be between 16 and 30 years old, and not have won the contest in previous years. Applications can be submitted at the Town Hall, its branch offices, or online at the municipal website, addressed to the Festivities Department.
Along with the completed application form, participants must include a photocopy of their ID card. If the applicant is a minor, they must also provide authorisation and ID documentation from a parent or legal guardian.
The King and Queen contest for children will also take place that same evening, although, as always, on this occasion the candidates will be chosen by draw. As in previous years, candidates in this category will be selected by draw. There are two age groups: the 'baby' category for children aged 0 to 2, and the 'children' category for those aged 2 to 15.
