On Tuesday, 5th of August, the Mijas Town Hall reminded residents that the application period is still open for one of the 176 subscriber parking spaces available at the new municipal car park currently under construction in the Los Santos neighbourhood of Las Lagunas. This was announced by the councillor for Facilities Management, Juan José Torres Trella (PP): "We estimate that this car park will open at the end of October and, prior to this, an application period has been opened so that local residents can register as subscribers". The councillor also explained that "if demand exceeds supply, a public draw will be held".

 

To be eligible for one of the 176 parking spaces in the future Los Santos car park made available to residents by the Mijas Town Hall, you must be a resident of legal age, own a light vehicle registered in the town, with up-to-date road tax (IVTM) and valid insurance. "The subscription price is 50 euros per month, which amounts to an annual fee of 600 euros", said Torres Trella.

Priority for the allocation of these spaces will be given to residents registered within the area of influence defined by this department.

 

The application period will remain open until the 15th of October. Applications can be submitted in person at the Las Lagunas Branch Office or via the electronic office.

Torres Trella also pointed out that, of the total 234 spaces available in the Los Santos public car park, 58 will be designated for short stay-use by the general public. "As this is a municipal car park, it follows the same pricing as the others: the first hour is free and it costs one euro in total for up to nine hours".
