Summer is just around the corner, and with it comes the desire to enjoy more outdoor activities. That’s why the Mijas Town Hall has organised a new edition of its Summer Cinema programme, which will run from 2nd July to 13th August. "We’re kicking off the summer with cinema, an exciting and varied programme for all families to enjoy. There’ll be films across different genres: animation, action, fantasy, comedy... and we hope everyone will find something they love”, said the councillor for Youth, Melisa Ceballos (PP). She encouraged “all residents and visitors to take part in Summer Cinema and enjoy the wonderful summer nights in Mijas”.
The municipality’s three main urban centres will be transformed into a giant open-air cinema, with a total of six films to be screened.
All screenings will be in Spanish and free of charge and will start at 22:30 hours.
The councillor highlighted that Mijas' Summer Cinema will take place across all three parts of the municipality, Mijas Pueblo, La Cala and Las Lagunas, at locations chosen to ensure a comfortable and accessible experience for all attendees.
The season will open with 'Despicable Me 4' on July 2nd at the Torreón beach (suitable for all ages).
'La Familia Benetón' on July 9th in the Plaza Virgen de la Peña. (+7 years).
'Black Adam' on July 16th in the María Zambrano Park (+13 years).
'Bad Boys. Ride or die’ on July 30th at the El Torreón beach (+16 years).
‘Wonka’ on August 6th at Plaza Virgen de la Peña (suitable for all ages)
‘Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire’ on August 13th at Plaza de La Candelaria (+12 years).
The quality of the feature films selected, along with the positive response from the public to the initiative, suggest an attendance of around 1,200 people.
