The Mijas Town Hall presents a full programme for the Las Lagunas Fair

  • The festivities will take place from the 25th to 29th of June
  • The tribute dinner for senior citizens will be held on the 26th of June at 21 hours at CEIP María Zambrano and will be by invitation only
  • Las fiestas transcurrirán del 25 al 29 de junio.

Marisol Bizcocho, Sergio Contreras, DeCai, Juan Manuel Soto and Siempre Así are some of the musical performances planned

The Las Lagunas Fair already has its programme and poster. On Tuesday 10th, the mayoress, Ana Mata (PP), alongside this year's town crier, Isabel Guerrero, officially unveiled the events that will make up this year's programme, as well as the image that will illustrate this edition of the festivities in Las Lagunas, which will be held from June 25th to 29th.

The Manuel España Theatre hosted the presentation of the Las Lagunas Fair, an event attended by members of the corporation and the festivities committee, whom the mayoress expressly thanked for their collaboration, as well as a large number of residents. The flamenco singer Isabel Guerrero delivered the proclamation, using her voice to guide listeners on a journey through some of Mijas’ most iconic locations. The event also featured performances by Ginés González and the 'Mijeña' Salma.

For her part, the mayoress explained that this year's programme has been designed with everyone in mind, especially to be enjoyed with family and friends. "I hope all residents and visitors have fun and share wonderful moments at the fair. These are going to be joyful days, and for us, it's as if summer officially begins with this celebration”, she added.

  • La alcaldesa de Mijas, Ana Mata, fue una de las encargadas de desvelar ayer algunas de las actuaciones de la feria.

The Las Lagunas Fair will be inaugurated on the 25th at 22 hours with the switching on of the artistic lighting. The first day will be Special Children's Day, so children's rides will have a reduced price of 2.50 euros following an agreement between the Town Hall and the fairground operators. In a move towards greater inclusivity, every day from 19:00 to 21:00 hours the fairground will operate without music and with reduced noise levels in the rides area, to make the event more accessible for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). As the mayoress explained, the aim is to ensure that everyone can enjoy the fair.

Free concerts

This year’s concert line-up will include performances by Marisol Bizcocho and Álvaro García (June 25th), José Manuel Soto and Siempre Así (26th), DeCai and Sergio Contreras (27th), Juanfra Carrasco, María Terremoto and Anabel Valencia (28th), and Fran Ocaña and Los Yakis (29th). All concerts will take place in the Caseta Municipal (Municipal Booth) and admission will be free until full capacity is reached.

The councillor for Festivities, Silvia Marín (PP), also announced that the programme will be completed with live performances by orchestras and cover bands such as Decibelios, Alba Dreid, Ronald y Los Yeyes, among others. There will also be performances by dance groups from the UP and local academies.

Tribute Dinner for the Elderly

The elderly will take centre stage on Thursday 26th, with a special tribute that will begin with a welcome cocktail and a reception by the festivities committee and members of the local corporation. The dinner will start at 21:00 hours and during the event, the Grandfather and Grandmother of the Fair will be honoured. All seniors wishing to attend must collect their invitation in advance from the municipal Senior CIitzens Department.

Daytime fair

The daytime fair will begin on Saturday 28th of June. “A section of Avenida Miguel Hernández will be transformed for the occasion. Alongside the local residents’ association, the surrounding businesses will join in, and we’ll have performances, an orchestra, cover bands, and a DJ to make sure we don’t miss out on any fun”, said Marín.
