The ‘Mijas con Alma’ (Mijas with Soul) talk series, promoted by the Family and Equal Opportunities Department of the Town Hall, will feature a special guest speaker on Friday 13th: nurse and transpersonal coach Irene Cañamero. The event will take place at 19h hours at the La Cala Branch Office, with free admission upon registration.
This was announced on Thursday 5th by the mayoress and head of the department, Ana Mata (PP), who highlighted the speaker’s expertise. “Irene Cañamero is a true reference in the field of personal development. Through a very difficult life experience, she has become an inspiration to many people, so what she shares with us will help us grow as individuals and will benefit us when it comes to making decisions”, said the mayoress.
To facilitate attendance at this event, the Town Hall has arranged a free transport service from Mijas Pueblo (18 hours, departing from the Town Hall) and Las Lagunas (18:30 hours, departing from the Ford roundabout). Registration is required at inscripciones.igualdad@mijas.es or on 952 58 90 01, as places are limited.
From healthcare to resilience
Cañamero’s talk is entitled ‘Personal challenge and overcoming adversity: my personal story. The importance of emotional and mental management’ and will explain that “we all have problems in life, we all face challenges and complicated situations that are not necessarily related to health. However, we all have resilience, which is the ability to rise above adversity, something we have not been taught to do”, explained the coach herself, adding that after she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, she realised that “it was not enough just to work on the physical, but that we needed to find resources and tools elsewhere”.
The ‘Mijas con Alma’ series, which has been running for a year now and has featured speakers such as Dr Carmen Alegría and Emilio Carrillo, aims to be a benchmark for personal growth on the Costa del Sol.
