Mijas was declared a Zone of Artistic Interest by the Junta de Andalucía in 2018, and since then we have gradually discovered many artists from Mijas who have shown us their work, among them the craftswoman and illustrator Humildad Ríos, who has now taken one of her creations to the province of Córdoba to show it to the public.

Art continues to transcend provincial boundaries and on this occasion, we travel to the city of three cultures. After submitting her work to an initiative seeking artistic pieces that represent the Córdoba, Humildad is exhibiting her work 'Qurtuba' there.

"I love the culture of Córdoba and I love Córdoba, even though I'm from Málaga, explained the artist. "So I decided to create a lamp that reflects my vision of the city, and it was one of the pieces selected for the exhibition".

Her work, 'Qurtuba', is crafted from olive wood, decorated with natural dried flowers and acrylic paint. It forms part of the Musa group exhibition, a collaborative initiative involving several artists, which is being held at the Casa Escondida cultural centre, a traditional Cordoban house with a courtyard. The exhibition can be visited until June 17th.
