The hotel occupancy data for April, provided by the Costa del Sol Hotel Entrepreneurs Association (Aehcos), place Mijas at the top of the province of Málaga, with a rate of 82.90%, which represents an 8.33% increase compared to the same month last year.

In fact, in April last year, occupancy stood at 74.57%, which is why the mayoress of the municipality, Ana Mata (PP), expressed a very positive view of these figures: “Mijas’s position as a tourist destination is undeniable, and month after month, the figures prove it. We are a very complete destination that makes us unique and, moreover, the Mijas brand is synonymous with quality and unique experiences. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the professionals in the sector for their excellent work, which makes it possible for us to speak of Mijas today as a leading destination”, said the mayoress.

 

For his part, the vice president of AEHCOS in Mijas, Juan Miguel Marcos, also highlighted the forecasts that the Costa del Sol Hotel Entrepreneurs Association is working with for the month of May. "The forecast is that in May, Mijas will reach an occupancy rate of 81.28%, while the projections for June would once again place the town as a leader with a rate of 91.25%", he said. 

As for the Tourist Offices located in Mijas Pueblo and La Cala, during the month of April, 14,570 people requested information, with Spanish, British, French, and German visitors standing out.
