Valerie Robson showcases twelve artworks inspired by the world of horses

The Mijas Pueblo Tourist Office is now hosting an exhibition by Valerie Robson entitled ‘Horse’, which is dedicated to the equine world. The exhibition opened on Friday 2nd of May, will remain open to the public until the 30th of May and can be visited during the normal opening hours of the office.

This is the first time Valerie Robson has held a solo exhibition, and she is doing so in one of Mijas’ most visited venues. “I’m very happy for the opportunity I’ve been given. I’ve taken part in several group exhibitions with other artists, but this is the first time I’ve taken the leap to exhibit solo. And to do it in such a public space, I’m very grateful to the Mijas Town Hall for offering me this well-frequented venue. I’m presenting work on the subject I’m most passionate about: horses. I love them. I used to have a horse and I’m closely connected to this world. Horses are part of my life, and I’m very involved in the equestrian scene here in Mijas. I find them easy to paint, and it’s very relaxing, it makes me happy", said the artist.

Her technique in this case is acrylic on canvas. Valerie began painting as a child but then set her hobby aside to focus on her professional career. A few years ago she took up her passion again. For the time being, she works from her home studio, and her artworks can be found in local galleries such as Studio 33 and at the arts and crafts market.

The councillor for Tourism, Francisco Jerez (Vox), said that "today we are renewing the exhibition in this room. We do it with a local artist of great quality. Every day I am more and more surprised by the quality of local artists. The author is very talented, she is even capable of reflecting the breed of the horses, her painting is very fine and precise".

The exhibition can be visited until the 30th of May, from 9 am to 18 hours, Monday to Friday, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 to 14 hours.
