Mijas establishes traffic restrictions and prohibited parking zones for Holy Week

  • The processions make it necessary to apply these restrictions in the three main population centres
  • La calle Fucsia, en Las Lagunas, será una de las calles que se verán afectadas por los cortes de tráfico durante Semana Santa.

Local Police calls for the cooperation of the citizens to respect the temporary signposting and facilitate the development of the processions

In accordance with the Municipal Traffic Management Plan for Holy Week 2025 established by the Mijas Town Hall, the municipality will suffer these days some restrictions such as road closures and prohibited parking areas in some streets of the three population centres due to the processions.

Thus, the parking of vehicles will be prohibited in the following areas these days:

Mijas Pueblo

- Wednesday 16th of April (19:00 to 01:00 h on Maundy Thursday): Inmaculada Concepción Church, C/ Alegre, C/ Charcones, Plaza de la Paz and Plaza de la Libertad.

- Thursday 17th April (19:00 to 00:00 h): Inmaculada Concepción Church, C/ Alegre, C/ Charcones,Pplaza de la Paz y Plaza de la Libertad.

- Friday 18th of April (18:00 h to end): Inmaculada Concepción Church, C/ Alegre, C/ Charcones, Plaza de la Paz and Plaza de la Libertad.

- Sunday 20th of April (From 00:00 h until the end): Inmaculada Concepción Church, C/ Alegre, C/ Charcones, Plaza de la Paz and Plaza de la Libertad.

Las Lagunas

- Friday 11th of April (14:00 to 02:00 h on Saturday): Avda. de Los Lirios, section C/ Fucsia-C/ San Valentín).

- Sunday 13th of April (23:00 Saturday to 14:00 h): Avda. de Los Lirios, section C/ Fucsia-C/ San Valentín)

- Thursday 17th of April (14:00 to 02:00 on Good Friday): Avda. de Los Lirios, section C/ Fucsia-C/ San Valentín)

- Friday 18th of April (14:00 to 02:00 h on Good Saturday): Avda. de los Lirios and streets Clavel, Ciprés, Jazmín, Tulipán, Verónica and Gladiolo).

La Cala

- Friday 18th of April (10:00 h until the end): Estepona and Cártama streets (church section and Estepona street).

Traffic will be closed to traffic during the time of the processions. 

The Mijas Local Police is calling for the cooperation of the public to respect this temporary signposting and thus facilitate the development of the processions. The officers also advise the public to use public transport during the processions.
