From the 8th of April, residents of Mijas Pueblos and subscribers to the municipal car park will be able to collect the stickers which accredit them as such. The Public Roads and Local Police Departments have set up this system to speed up the entry of residents to Mijas during the months with the highest influx of visitors, from April to October. This period includes holiday periods such as Easter and summer, and the celebration of cultural and festive events, dates in which both the area of the southern road and the municipal car park are full and vehicles have to be diverted to the area of the quarry, from where the shuttle bus service operates.

To speed up access, the Town Hall is making these identification cards available to citizens. "We have spoken to Public Roads to try to coordinate the entry to the town for residents and car park subscribers, with a sticker placed on the left side of the windscreen to quickly identify the resident, so that the officer does not have to stop and ask for explanations. This way, the transit of vehicles into the town is much quicker and no queues are created at the entrance to the town", explained the councillor for Public Safety, Juan Carlos Cuevas Dawson (Vox), at a press conference on Monday 7th.
The cards can be collected at the Citizen's Attention Office in the Mijas Town Hall, to do so you must present documentation proving that you are a resident of Mijas Pueblo or have a parking space in the municipal car park. "From the departments of Public Roads and Local Police we have decided to make these stickers, to facilitate access to the residents of Mijas so that they do not have problems in accessing the village, especially when fairs or events are held, as the police can easily see who is a resident and who is not,’ added the councillor of Public Roads, Melisa Ceballos (PP).
