The Mijas Local Police finished a week of intense activity, last week, with the arrest of eight people with outstanding warrants for various crimes. The actions, carried out in different parts of the municipality, have allowed the location of these individuals thanks to the work of patrolling, preventive controls and the experience of the officers in the knowledge of the environment and the background of some of the individuals arrested.
The councillor for Local Police, Juan Carlos Cuevas Dawson (Vox), highlighted the efficiency and coordination of the police force, pointing out that these arrests "reflect the high level of commitment and professionalism of our officers, who work tirelessly to ensure the safety of all neighbours of Mijas".
Among the actions, interventions were recorded in Las Lagunas, where a woman with a previous record for fraud was located in Camino de Coín, and a foreign citizen wanted for strong-arm robbery in the area of Avenida de los Lirios. In La Cala de Mijas, a man was arrested on the boulevard when he tried to flee from a police control; he had a warrant for corruption of public authorities.

In El Chaparral and the area around Molino de Viento, the officers identified two men with multiple court injunction, mainly for strong-arm robbery and intimidation. Finally, in Mijas Pueblo, the Local Police located a foreign citizen with a warrant valid until 2030 from a criminal court in Ávila.
"From the Town Hall we continue to reinforce the necessary means and resources so that our officers can carry out their work with maximum efficiency and safety", explained Cuevas, stressing that safety "is our priority and we will continue to work daily to protect our neighbours and guarantee peaceful coexistence in our municipality".
The councillor took the opportunity to congratulate the officers involved in these actions and reiterated the Town Hall's commitment to continue strengthening police presence throughout the municipality.
In addition, the councillor reported that the month of March closed with a total of 23 arrests made by the Mijas Local Police, "a figure that reflects the constant and effective work being carried out by the police force".
