The Senior Citizens Department of the Mijas Town Hall informs that the registration period is now open to participate in a trip to the Antequera Dolmens Site which will take place on the 3rd of April. This activity is aimed at users of the active participation centres and those interested can apply for a place by calling the Senior Citizens Department on 696 56 31 89.
The Antequera Dolmens Site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is made up of the Dolmens of Menga, Viera and El Romeral and is considered to be one of the best and most famous examples of European megaliths. Megaliths are the first forms of monumental architecture in European prehistory, having developed, according to the data currently available, since the beginning of the 5th millennium B.C., the Neolithic period, some 6,500 years ago.
This activity is part of the workshop ‘Get to know your province’ of the Active Ageing Activities programme of the Senior Citizens Department. There are 53 places available.
