The councillor for Security at the Mijas Town Hall, Juan Carlos Cuevas (VOX), on Frida 21st, highlighted the work of the Local Police in terms of prevention and active surveillance in all areas of the municipality. "The safety of our neighbours is an absolute priority and for this it is essential to strengthen police presence in Mijas Pueblo, Las Lagunas and La Cala", he stressed, also reporting that in recent days, preventive controls deployed in different parts of the town allowed the arrest, last week, up to four people with warrants in force.
The councillor also pointed out that the number of arrests so far has reached 13, of which 10 are in response to arrest warrants, 2 for crimes related to stolen vehicles and 1 for breaking and entering.
In this sense, Cuevas stressed that "these operations are part of a security strategy based on prevention and police proximity, with the aim of deterring crime and ensuring the peace of mind of the people in Mijas. It is about having an active and constant presence in the area", he explained.
He also pointed out that "the Security Department has reinforced the coordinated work with the Guardia Civil to maintain and intensify these actions in all areas of the municipality". Finally, Cuevas thanked the Local Police for their daily efforts, assuring that "the Mijas government team will continue to support the security of the municipality".
