The Mijas Town Hall clarifies that, since Thursday 13th, the road that connects Los Claveles with the Monteblanco area has been closed to traffic in both directions. The closure of this road, explains the Town Hall, is due to the completion of the improvement and expansion works of this stretch, where the lighting, asphalting and street furniture, among others, are being renewed. 

These works will be carried out over the next few weeks, also taking advantage of the White Week period, when traffic intensity is reduced as school buses are not running. If everything goes according to plan, the road will reopen again next Monday 3rd of March. 

In the meantime, the local government recommends drivers who have to travel to La Cala to use alternative routes to this road, such as the A7 dual carriageway or the road linking Camino de Coín with Entrerríos and the seaside town.
