The initials of friends Alma, María, Irene, Martina and Isa make up the name Amimi, a restaurant that fuses Italian and Spanish cuisine and which opened on Wednesday 12th transformed and open to all types of public in La Cala. Its owners, David Núñez and his wife, Isabel Ruiz, have made this project possible, Itagnolo, as they have called this fusion which is very present in the menu. They hav eplenty of experience, as they also run the restaurants Único, Los Delfines and Ella, as well as a clothing shop, also in La Cala. 

"We actually opened it in June, but we had a concept that we wanted to apply and due to the high season we decided to postpone it until this date when we are a bit calmer", said Núñez, who hopes that the clients will feel comfortable. 

"This year what we have done is to go for a different public and expand the range and opt for more competitive prices", said Pedro Hernandez, director of Amimi, located in Butiplaya street number 3. 

The mayoress of Mijas, Ana Mata (PP), attended the opening of the premises and personally congratulated those in charge: "‘We are happy to see that enterprising initiatives on the restaurant business at a time when it is so difficult to find workers in this sector. They present a very nice aesthetic, very in keeping with this little corner, a very Mediterranean line and a very suggestive menu", said the mayoress.

For his part, the councillor for Employment Promotion, Juan Carlos Maldonado (PMP), pointed out that it is "an innovative concept here in La Cala, it is a successful place from the point of view of gastronomy and entrepreneurship".

Starters, pastas, meats and appetizers, together with an exceptional cocktail bar make this place a meeting point. Up to nine people make up the staff of this establishment that opens its doors with enthusiasm and effort.
