This weekend there is a solidarity rock event, Perrock, which is now in its 12th year. Six rock bands, raffles, a bar with food and drinks and stands from shelters all over the province will come together in this charity festival.

All proceeds will go to the animal shelters. The event will take place on Sunday 16th of February, from 11 hours at the Fuengirola fairground, as the event will be organised between two booths, the Diana booth and the Andaluces booth, and the concerts will be held outside. 

According to Luis Serrano, one of the organisers, "we have a spectacular line-up. The groups want to come because it's also very good for them, as it's a way of promoting themselves. We will have Deja Vu Rock Tunes, Leyenda Tributo, Alokados, Tributo Rock Band, The Nowhere Band and Sound Friction. These are the ones participating this year".

 

This event was created after the shelter PAD was flooded 12 years ago, since then it hasn't stopped. Antonio Alarcón, organiser and musician, was one of the driving forces with his wife. "We came up with the idea 12 years ago. We saw the floods in PAD Mijas and we didn't want to sit on our hands. That's how we started it and every year it gets better and better. At the moment, we can expect around 3,000 people to come and see us. 

As well as food and drinks, the shelters will be able to set up their own stands to sell products and give out information. There will be a big raffle at 17:00 and, after this, there will be a performance by a batucada. Entrance is charitable very affordable. According to Alarcón, "we have two options: a solidarity ticket with a donation of 1 euro, or food or goods for animals; and the other option is a 5 euro ticket with a soft drink or beer and participation in the raffle".

In total, 18 animal shelters from all over the province of Malaga will participate, including local ones such as Mijas Felina, Huella Felina Mijas, PAD or Aristochad. Don't miss the appointment.
