On Tuesday 21st, the second edition of the charity gala ‘Juntos contra el cáncer' (Together Against Cancer) was presented, which will take place on the 8th February at the Hotel Higuerón Resort (Fuengirola) and which, for the second year, will be held in aid of the branches of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) in Mijas, Fuengirola, Benalmádena and Torremolinos. This is an event which is part of the activities for World Cancer Day, which is commemorated on February 4th. In its first edition, 320 people took part, but this year the aim is to reach 400.
In this regard, the provincial president of the AECC, Joaquín Morales, recalled today that "all the services we provide from our group are completely free for those who receive them, hence the need to continually seek events that generate economic resources, in order to continue offering completely free all the services we provide to cancer patients and their families, also dedicating another part of our funds to prevention and research".
The dinner will start at 20 hours and will cost 100 euros per person. The Michelin Star chef Diego Gallegos, from Sollo restaurant, will be in charge of the dinner. "The aim is to raise as much money as possible to help this association, we will help in any way we can because together we can go further", said the renowned chef.

The gala will be hosted by the actress Esther Arroyo and during the course of the event an exclusive work of art by the artist José Rulos will be auctioned, dedicated to Rafa Nadal's career, which was signed by the tennis player himself and by the rest of the players who participated in the last edition of the Davis Cup, last October. "It is a mural that we are donating from the Higuerón Hotel with the idea of raising even more funds for the AECC, and from today we are starting the bidding with 25,000 euros, although we hope that the funds raised will be much higher", said Javier Rodríguez, CEO of the hotel complex.
Also in attendance at the presentation of this solidarity gala was the provincial deputy Francisco José Martín, who took advantage of his speaking time to encourage the public to collaborate with this cause, "because everything we do will benefit society as a whole, so both local administrations and the business sector and, in this case, the AECC branches of these four municipalities from Malaga have to work together to achieve a single goal, which is none other than to help patients and their families in their fight against cancer".
