The Mancomunidad and Acosol have made a commitment to the Mijas Town Hall to develop the draft, within its investment plan, that will enable the second desalination plant on the Western Costa del Sol by first requesting funding from Aquamed, which depends on the State.
This was highlighted on Monday 13th by the mayoress of Mijas, Ana Mata (PP), after a meeting held during the morning with the president of the Mancomunidad, Manuel Cardeña, and the managing director of Acosol, Matilde Mancha, at the town hall, to analyse the services provided in the municipality.
Mata highlighted the importance of this first step and stressed the benefits that this infrastructure will bring to the municipality. The mayoress said after the meeting that "we are working to ensure the resources that Mijas deserves and, for this, the involvement of the different administrations is essential. I thank the Mancomunidad and Acosol for their predisposition and their firm commitment to Mijas".
For his part, Cardeña said that "in Mijas we are going to carry out a series of actions to guarantee the supply of drinking water, where the second desalination plant will be one of the major projects to be developed in the medium term".
