Last Sunday 1st, Butibamba Park was filled with Christmas spirit with the celebration of the market organised by the La Cala Lions Club. This event, whose main objective is to raise funds for charity, brought together an ever increasing number of people.
The market had stands of all kinds, such as that of the Foreigners' Department, which collaborates with this charitable initiative. "Today we have more than 60 stands, whereas the first year we only had 20, last year 40 and next year we hope to reach 100", exclaimed Katja Thirion, a technician from the Foreigners Department of the Mijas Town Hall. In addition, numerous stalls were set up to raise funds for Christmas decorations, food and drinks, toys, gifts, clothes...
The Christmas market featured a charming children's train that turned the market into a space of solidarity and union: "There is a lot of Christmas stuff, and Father Christmas is going to visit us to give presents to the children in the park. The event also has a children's train that will be running around all day, I hope everyone enjoys it", said the president of the Lions Club, Karen Blair.
The councillor for Foreigners at the Mijas Town Hall, Mario Bravo (PP), said that "it is easy to find a space in La Cala park, but today it seems to be quite full thanks to activities like this which are also organised and supervised by the Foreigners Department, to whom we must also say thank you for taking care of all the details".
A day of games and fun for the whole family, where the aim was clear: to raise funds for those who need it most.
