On Friday 29th and Saturday 30th, the Andalucía Park hosted the first market ‘Mijas con alma solidaria’ (Mijas with a caring soul). The Department of Social Inclusion organised this initiative with the participation of different associations, which were raising funds for their causes. The event also featured dance and singing performances and many surprises.
It is said that these markets are usually well received and even more so with Christmas approaching, that is why the Social Inclusion department of the Mijas Town Hall has promoted this initiative that helps those who always help us. "People are very supportive and, of course, we have some incredible associations. I thank them because they have given us a wonderful weekend and they show solidarity and help each other, which is the most important thing", said the councillor for Social Inclusion, Melisa Ceballos (PP), during her visit to the market.
Among the associations, AFA Mijas, Adimi, the Spanish Association Against Cancer, Casa Luna, Avatés, Afesol, Apaffer and Cudeca were present at this market with a caring soul. At the market you could find everything from second-hand items, such as those on offer at the Cudeca stand, to handicrafts and creations made by the members of the associations in the workshops, at the Apaffer and Afesol stands. The day was rounded off on Friday with dance performances.
