For this weekend Mijas offers you a solidarity plan that will also allow you to find out about the work of the social groups that provide services in the municipality. The Andalucía Park will host Friday through Sunday the first street market ‘Mijas con alma solidaria’ (Mijas with a caring soul), launched by the Department of Social Inclusion of the Mijas Town Hall. "Thirteen social associations are taking part in the market, including Adimi, Afesol and Cudeca, and they will have a space to sell everything from Christmas products, their own articles, second hand clothes... a little bit of everything", explained the councillor for the area, Melisa Ceballos (PP), on Wednesday 27th, highlighting that “everything they raise will be very useful to cover their expenses and needs”.
The market will be open to the public on Friday 29th of November, Saturday 30th and Sunday 1st of December, always from 11 to 19 hours, "also to liven up these days, there will be music and dance performances, also pastorales and flamenco ... all this so that families have a good time, in addition to collaborating with these groups", said the councillor.
Among others, on Friday afternoon the dance groups of Berni and Feli Gabriel will perform, and on Saturday afternoon the flamenco artists Enrique Heredia and Miguel Ángel Rojas, "but there will be many more surprises", said Ceballos, who also encouraged all citizens "to come to this market, to take a walk and to get to know the associations we have here in Mijas, which help many people and do great social work, so we have to support them and do our bit so they can continue to provide services".
