After five years closed, the Hotel Tamisa Golf reopens its doors. The establishment, located in a strategic location in Camino de Coín next to Mijas Golf, closed its doors in 2019, since then many groups have been setting their eyes on it, but it was the business group Fernando Corral from Salamanca who saw the possibilities of this establishment already on his first visit last April. "We loved the area, we fell in love, especially with the location of the hotel, which seemed incredible to us. Fifteen days later we had the keys and we were thinking about how and what kind of hotel we wanted and six months later, here we are, happy and very excited about this project", explained during the ceremony the hotel manager, Casimiro Rodríguez.
In record time, just six months, the owners have carried out a comprehensive and express refurbishment in which they have invested 4 million euros, culminating in the inauguration of the new Tamisa Golf Hotel on Tuesday afternoon. The official ceremony was attended by representatives of the local government, including the mayoress of the city, Ana Mata (PP); the first deputy mayor, Juan Carlos Cuevas Dawson (Vox); the councillors for Tourism and Tourism Promotion, Francisco Jerez (Vox) and Juan Carlos Maldonado (PMP), respectively, and the councillor for Town Planning, Lourdes Burgos (PMP), as well as representatives of the hotel and tourism sector in general.
"For us the important thing is that the staff working here is from Mijas, as well as the companies they have chosen for the refurbishment of the hotel, and that fills us with satisfaction, because it means more jobs in in Mijas, and that the Mijeños have the opportunity to work in a place as wonderful as this", said the mayoress of Mijas, who added that this is a very "requested sector as we are, without a doubt, one of the most sought after destinations".
For his part, the councillor for Tourism pointed out that "it means that national and foreign investments are realising that there is a future in Mijas, that you can come here to invest", Jerez added. "It is an idyllic space but also a space that represents our tourist offer, a hotel with golf course", said the councillor for Tourist Promotion.

"I think it will surprise people a lot, each room is personalized, no room is the same and because of the location and place where the hotel is, we want to boosgt events, especially weddings, for this we have magnificent facilities such as gardens and pool", said the manager Casimiro Rodriguez, “in addition to the restaurant El Mirador del Golf, which is open to the general public and I its culinary proposal will surprise a lot”, he added.
