The La Cala Lions Club, with more than 25 years of history in the seaside town, continues to support the victims of the recent storm caused by the DANA in Valencia and Malaga. Last Saturday 23rd of November they organised a charity event at the Legends Showbar in La Cala to raise funds for this cause.
More than 100 people did their bit in this charity event, the fourth organised in this bar in La Cala, raising close to 2,000 euros. The event included musical performances from the 80s, lots of dancing and even a raffle.
Next solidarity activity
The La Cala Lions Club will start the month of December with a new charity activity, this time to celebrate Christmas. On Sunday 1st of December, from 11:00 hours, they will set up a large Christmas market in La Butibamba Park which, according to vice-president of the club Sandy Tevendly, "will feature 53 stalls selling products that can't be found in the shops, perfect for Christmas and birthday presents". The event will last about five hours, admission will be free and, according to Tevendly, "there will be performances for the whole family, and even a visit from Father Christmas, so all children are invited to come along".
