The exhibition, which is part of the Viogenex working group, can be visited until 14 hours on Tuesday 26th

'Not one more', 'You are not alone' and 'No more gender violence”'are some of the slogans exhibited in La Cala Branch Office Square on the occasion of the 25th of November.

"We have worked together to produce interesting pieces aimed at women and with a message of solidarity. 'Not one more', 'We will always remember you' are phrases with which we encourage women to join these movements that help them", said the vice-president of Soroptimist International Costa del Sol, Aura Roderick, who explained that the slogans have been used in previous campaigns and that, on an international level, this 25N Soroptimist joined the orange campaign of the United Nations that emerged in 2008 to put an end to violence against women.

The exhibition ‘Silhouettes of women’ is one more spear in the fight to eradicate this scourge and it was organised within Viogenex. "The Town Hall started the Viogenex working group and every year for the 25th of November we prepare something, a small project in collaboration with Soroptimist International, which is a member of this group", which also includes other municipal departments, Local Police, Guardia Civil and other groups such as Age Care, the Lions Club of La Cala, Red Cross and Malaga Acoge. The Family and Equal Opportunities Department of the Mijas Town Hall is also part of Viogenex. Its coordinator, Elizabeth Jaime, explained that it is dedicated to foreign victims of gender violence: "women who have come to Mijas and who are from other countries; they sometimes feel alone because here they have no support networks neither family or social, and they do not know where or who to turn to. Language is another obstacle, and so the Foreigners Department does a very good job with them, in my opinion".

The exhibition, which aims to raise awareness about the elimination of gender violence and is part of the programme of events for 25N.
