Encuentros con la Cultura, an initiative by the journalist Amparo de la Gama brought Vanessa Guerra to Mijas. The author presented on Thursday 21st her book ‘El lenguaje corporal de las emociones’ (The body language of emotions) and gave a talk to the attendees of this initiative promoted by the area of Family and Equal Opportunities of Mijas, which is managed directly by the mayoress, Ana Mata who defined the meetings as "medicine for the soul".
For Amparo de la Gama, Vanessa Guerra explains in her book that "you have to trust the body because the body never lies. Words are full of lies, but our body, our gestures, our way of communicating, simply comes out spontaneously. It is the most ancestral", and added that "with this book Vanessa gives us all the tools to improve communication".
During the presentation, Vanesa Guerra explained that "with this book I wanted to create a kind of dictionary so that each person knows what body movements are attributed to each emotion, so that, if you know what is happening in your body, you can prevent that emotion from exploding before you know what you are feeling".
The meeting also included a talk on ‘La trampa de la Ley del Agrado' (The trap of the Law of Agreeableness), which addressed how important it is to learn to interpret the body's signals in order to achieve a fuller and healthier life.
Born in San Pedro de Alcántara, although resident in Madrid, Vanessa Guerra, according to de la Gama "is pure emotion". The actress, in addition to publicising her book, is currently collaborating with different television channels to talk about the non-verbal language of public figures, including, for example, Queen Letizia.
