Next Sunday, 17th of November, at 12:00 hours, the traditional Santa Cecilia concert will take place in the Plaza Virgen de la Peña, which is offered every year by the Mijas Music Band and the Las Lagunas Music Group. With a varied repertoire, we will listen to Spanish music, soundtracks and processional marches. The concert is organised by the Music Bands department directed by the conductors, Francisco Valcárcel and Cristóbal Cruz. According to the councillor responsible for the area, Melisa Ceballos (PP), "it is a very important event for the musicians because it is in honour of their patron saint", and she also expressed her hope that "it will not rain that day, although in the event that it does, a marquee has been prepared so that the event can still take place". It is also a prelude to the Christmas concerts that both bands give us in December.
