The Department of Culture wants to support a sector with tradition, style, strength and initiative, accompanied by talent and creativity. We are talking about the fashion sector and with these ingredients the Mijas Fashion Day is born, which will take place on the 3rd of November at the Manuel España Theatre. On Friday the poster of the event and all the details of this meeting, which will be hosted by the journalist Euprepio Pádula, were presented.
It will be attended by designers such as Petro Valverde, Ángel Sánchez Sirviente, Dione Pertegaz and Fran Gallardo, among others.
The fashion designer Fran Gallardo, from Mijas, thanked the initiative of the town hall, "becausethe sector of textile craftsmanship, of haute couture is affected, so it is necessary to strengthen training and information in this field so that it can continue".
After the round tables, the event will move to the outdoor patio of the theatre, where there will be a fashion show with young talents from the Marbella design academy. Each one will present a design and a jury of experts will choose the winner, who will be able to enjoy a practical training with the designer Susana Zamora, an icon in flamenco and equestrian fashion. Admission will be free until full capacity is reached.
The councillor for Culture, Juan Carlos Maldonado stressed that "this day is a strong commitment to fashion by the Mijas Town Hall, so that the municipality is linked to this great activity that represents our tradition and culture".
