It is a platform that has been operating for some years in Torremolinos and Benalmádena and has about 400 members

The CIOMijas facilities hosted on Tuesday afternoon the official presentation of the Círculo de Empresarios de Mijas (CEMI), a group that was born in the municipality with the aim of defending the interests of entrepreneurs and self-employed in the city, without excluding any profession, they emphasize. Because strength comes in numbers, said José Francisco Ruiz Fontalba, delegate of CEMI, who also stressed that "this circle will help businesses in all their procedures, to make progress and grow, providing information of all kinds and indefinite advice, and where we will also have a “coworking” for entrepreneurs to share their experiences".

It is a platform that has been present for a decade in Torremolinos, where nearly 300 entrepreneurs have already joined, and also in Benalmádena, where it has a hundred members. Now it is coming to Mijas and, for the time being, it has aroused the interest of some 50 businesses, which will be able to benefit from different resources through this organisation. "From our association, we offer many training activities, we promote new technologies and, above all, we represent and defend the interests of entrepreneurs now also here in Mijas, a municipality with a vibrant business sector, multi-sectoral, with a lot of strength and a spectacular future", explained the head of the Circle of Entrepreneurs in Torremolinos, Adolfo Trigueros, at this presentation.

Institutional support

The Mijas Town Hall, through the area of Commerce and Economic Development, also supported this new group of entrepreneurs that, according to the councillor Juan Carlos Maldonado (PMP), will strengthen the local economy and boost the growth of Mijas businesses, "because thanks to this circle we can have more job opportunities, both the unemployed and people who want to grow professionally, as well as allowing the participation of entrepreneurs in different types of events". The councillor also insisted that "this is an example of the public-private collaboration that we are always committed to and which is also interesting so that Mijas can aim to host larger business events".
