The bar La Palma in Las Lagunas is organising for the second consecutive year a charity lunch in aid of the Cudeca Foundation. It will take place on Saturday 28th of September from 13:00 hours.
The lunch is organised with great enthusiasm by the family who run this establishment, as they have needed the services of the foundation, and want to continue to contribute their bit. Ruth González, one of the owners, said that “we wanted to do something charitable for Cudeca, and since we have a bar, what better than to prepare a lunch. Last year we collected 1,400 euros and this year we want to raise 3,000”. For her part, Dolores Antón, Ruth’s mother, said that “we are going to have homemade food, we will make a big paella, tapas... Don’t forget to participate in the raffle that we have with many prizes from local businesses that have collaborated.”
The Cudeca Foundation is grateful for the collaboration. On Thursday 26th the bar received a visit from Rafael Olaya, assistant manager of the foundation, who recalled that “we are dedicated to caring for patients at the end of their lives, and everything is always free of charge for both the patients and their families. We have subsidies, but for us, the most important thing is the support of our neighbours. We would like to sincerely thanked them for this event”.
Collaboration
For its part, the Town Hall is collaborating by providing street furniture, installing a small stage and promoting the event. The councillor for Social Inclusion, Melisa Ceballos (PP), congratulated the work of Cudeca. “They do an incredible job. But, above all, I want to thank the neighbours in particular, the bar La Palma for this great solidarity action”.
