The equipment will be handed out that same day, as well as the control, which will take place on Sunday, from 7:30 to 8:30 in the morning. It will be a sprint race, with 750 metres swimming, 20 kilometres cycling and 5 kilometres running. The start for men will be at 9 a.m. and for women, five minutes later. The categories planned are youth, junior, under-23, senior and veterans. The Paralympic triathlon will also be included in the different categories.
For the first time, the race will qualify for the XXIV Provincial Triathlon Circuit Diputación de Málaga. There will be trophies and prizes for the first three absolute male and female, individual categories, Paralympic triathlon and clubs. There will also be cash prizes for the men's and women's individuals. "The swimming stage will take place on the Torreón beach and will be the starting point, after the first transition, the bike circuit for 20 kilometres, in two laps with a demanding route. Finally, the running race in a unique setting, the Coastal Path", said Diego Pino, coordinator of the event.
The councillor for Sports, Mari Francis Alarcón (PP) encouraged everyone to enjoy "an event that attracts many athletes and companions. It is a complicated competition, with three sports, which makes the event very attractive for both the athletes and spectators". Mijas Comunicación will broadcast live the race from 8:45 hours on Sunday morning.
