The painting exhibition can be visited until the 14th of October

Magic, that is what the walls of the Folk Museum currently display thanks to the painting exhibition of the artist from Mijas, María García Burgos, also known as 'Maga'. Until the 14th of October, you can visit this exhibition which opens the doors to Maga's personal experiences.

Warm colours, suggestive shapes, precision and intuition are some of the ingredients that make up this exhibition with which we can immerse ourselves in a world of mystery. During the inauguration, which took place on Friday 20th of September, the councillor for Culture of the Mijas Town Hall, Juan Carlos Maldonado (PMP), explained that "we are seeing an exhibition here with a lot of magic. A lot of magic because, through watercolour, specifically, of facades and doors, she is able to reflect different places of the world, places she has visited. Everyone who sees these works really connects".

Neighbour of Charcones street, Maga has always been an artist. She studied ceramics, modelling and drawing in Switzerland, but it was in Turkey where she began her career as a painter. During the inauguration of the exhibition, she was surrounded by friends and neighbours. One of them, Antonio Rueda, said that "I think it's great. There is a lot of work behind this exhibition. I think that Maga is imagining a world with many doors and we have to imagine what is behind them". Another visitor, Cornelia Albadalejo, said that "it's fantastic. I got to know this work recently, Maga showed it to me, and I have even photographed it for future exhibitions so I can learn more about the history of each of the paintings, and every time I see it I love it more".
