Those who like flamenco like the authentic, the deep, the purest, and that is what the show ‘Flamenco en La Muralla’ was all about.
The show opened with the Flamenco group of Tatiana Cuevas, made up of Vanesa Fernández and Fabiola Santiago on vocals, Isaac Muñoz on guitar and David Moñiz on violin. Performing on stage, an emotional dancer, devoted to her audience, Tatiana Cuevas, who said that "I am really happy to dance in my homeland and for my people".
But there was more, the singer from Cordoba, Julián Estrada, who performed in Mijas for the first time, and who emphasized the importance of supporting flamenco, our culture.
This event is an initiative of the Department of Culture of the Mijas Town Hall, organised in collaboration with the Peña Flamenca El Pitero and the support of McDonald Hotels&Resorts and Caja Rural.
For his part, Juan Antonio Fernandez Moya, member of the peña, also stressed the importance of supporting flamenco, "so that it remains alive". The councillor for culture, Juan Carlos Maldonado, echoed these words and explained that the "culture department is already working to organise a high level flamenco festival for next year, giving flamenco and our culture, its rightful place".
