We have seen many of his works in the Holy Week processions in Mijas and other towns, but last weekend they were displayed in a very different context, on the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid catwalk. In addition, their work has been shown in a video at the Larios Fashion Week catwalk in Malaga. We are talking about the work of the silversmith from Mijas Cristóbal Angulo, which has been selected to shine at these events.
Larios Fashion Week
The Malaga catwalk, which celebrated its thirteenth edition last weekend, is consolidated as a key event for fashion, offering a showcase for the creativity of our designers, but also for the Mijas artisan. The event took place on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th of September in the heart of the capital, in Marqués de Larios street, where designs by Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Juan Carlos Armas or Jesús Segado were paraded. There were also prizes and awards and during the catwalk the video ‘Designs with soul: Malaga craftsmanship’ was presented, a project that highlights the richness and diversity of the craftsmanship of our land, and in which the works of Angulo appear.
"What you are going to see on the catwalk is going to be the video that a production company recorded related to a piece that I was making when they came to do the work and I think it will be interesting because you will see the process, at least, of how most of the work is done making a chiselled jewel, which is what we do here at Elegancia Barroca, chiselled jewellery", explained Angulo a few days before the event.
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week
His works were not only seen on this catwalk, they were also present on the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid catwalk, which began on September 12th and ends on the 16th. With a career linked to religious silversmithing, he has created together with his son the brand Elegancia Barroca, jewellery that is characterised by its chiselling and shine.
