The programme for the six days of the Mijas Fair starts today, Wednesday 4th of September, at 18.30 hours, with the departure of the giants and cabezudos (big-heads) parade. Children who wish to take part in the parade can register from 17.30 hours at the Town Hall, from where the parade will depart. The first day is reserved for children's day, and all the rides will cost 2.50 euros. In addition, every day of the fair, from 19.00 to 21.00 hours, the characteristic sound of the rides area will be eliminated so that children with special needs can enjoy the fair without acoustic barriers. 

The activities will continue with the inauguration of the fairground and the switching on of the artistic lighting at 22.00 hours, which this year is made up of almost 400,000 LED lights. Half an hour later in the Municipal Booth there will be performances by the UP dance groups of the teachers Remedios Fernández and Víctor Rojas. At 23.30 hours the candidates for queen, king, ladies and companions of the Feria de Mijas Pueblo 2024 will begin their show, also in the Municipal Booth.

The main performance of the night will be given by Marta Santos. The singer and songwriter from Seville will present songs from her debut album ‘Poquito a poquito’, such as, among others, ‘La vida entera y las cosas pequeñitas’. The concert will take place in the Municipal Caseta at 01.00. Admission will be free until full capacity is reached. 

Public transport

To facilitate the arrival at the fair, the Mijas Town Hall, through the Mobility Department, has set up a shuttle bus service as well as reinforcing the intercity bus that connects Mijas with Fuengirola. The intercity line M-122 will be operational until 02:00 hours and there will be an additional stop, at the Ford roundabout. As a novelty this year there will be shuttle buses in the three urban centes, which will leave from the main parking areas of La Cala (the fairground), Las Lagunas (the fairground) and from the Puerto Quarry of Mijas Pueblo, from 16:00 to 04:00 hours, while on Saturday it will be extended for an extra hour until 05:00 hours. In Osunillas there is also a parking area, so the shuttle bus will also stop there.

The Mijas Fair live 

Mijas Comunicación will offer you the Mijas Fair live every day. The special programme will start on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Monday from 21.00 hours, and you will be able to watch the fair through connections, interviews and reports. On Sunday, 8th of September, Mijas 3.40 TV will be faithful to its appointment with the big day of the Virgen de la Peña, at 11.30 hours we will connect live with the parish of the Inmaculada to offer you the solemn mass and at 21.15 hours we will start the special programme on the occasion of the procession of the patron saint of Mijas.
