On Wednesday 21st of August, the Youth Department published the provisional list of university transport grants for the 2021-2022 academic year, after several corrections to the call for applications. These grants are intended to help all young people who study outside of the municipality. A total of 158 applications have been submitted, of which 136 have been accepted and 22 rejected. 

All those interested can check the notice board and edicts, the electronic site of the Town Hall website, www.mijas.es, and also, in person, the notice board of the Youth Office, located in the Manuel España Theatre in Las Lagunas. 

Youth will allocate 44,540 euros to this matter. The grants for transport are awarded in various amounts and range from 440, 300, 160 or 100 euros, depending on the expense and the justification of the same. In the previous edition, the Town Hall allocated 40,000 euros for this purpose, which means that the amount is 11.3% higher than for the previous academic year. 

Those whose applications have been rejected may present their arguments within 10 working days of the publication of this list, that is, until the 4th of September. Arguments can be registered at the Mijas Town Hall, at the branch offices in Las Lagunas and La Cala and at the Youth Office.
