The Mijas Town Hall has established the basis for renewing its support to the Unicaja Mijas Basketball for another season by reinforcing the sponsorship of the women's team in the Liga Femenina Challenge, which has two players from the town. 

With this handshake between the mayoress of Mijas, Ana Mata, and the president of Unicaja Basketball, Antonio Jesús López Nieto, the agreement to renew Mijas' sponsorship of the team that bears his name, the senior women's team that will compete for the second consecutive season in the Liga Femenina Challenge, has been sealed. Mijas supports women's sport.

The mayoress of Mijas, Ana Mata, stressed"the importance of supporting women's sport from public entities, in this case women's sport in Mijas". She also added that "Unicaja is a guarantee of success in basketball, therefore, to carry the logo of Mijas throughout the national territory is a great opportunity to promote Mijas all over the world".

Unicaja Basketball has found in Mijas a perfect ally to place women's sport where it deserves to be.

For his part, the president of Unicaja Basketball, Antonio Jesús López Nieto, declared that they are "proud to maintain the link with this municipality, which has clearly supported the women's team", and added that this year they will play a game in Mijas.
