Last Sunday, the Manuel España Theatre hosted the closing concert of the V International Piano Festival of Malaga (FIPM). Accompanied by the Malaga Symphony Orchestra, nine students of the festival performed pieces by Mozart, Beethoven and Chopin, among other great composers.
This concert, directed by José Luis López Antón, was possible thanks to the collaboration between the Malaga Provincial Council and Mijas Town Hall. "For this concert, we did a preliminary test and selected nine students to play with the orchestra, we must remember that in Spain there are no festivals where students have the opportunity to play with an orchestra, so we are very happy", said the general director of the FIPM, who highlighted the talent of the young pianists, from Germany, Taiwan, China and Malaga, among other places in the world, who are “fantastic”.
The mayoress of Mijas, Ana Mata (PP), accompanied by other members of the government team, did not want to miss this recital. "It is a privilege for Mijas to have this fifth festival, it is the first time it has been held, and it has the participation of the Malaga Provincial Council, and the Malaga Symphony Orchestra, which has given great concerts", she said, adding that "it is a festival that has been held for five years, that is consolidating, above all, because there is a great interest in music, in piano, and all the musicians are very enthusiastic about it".
