Last Friday the fourth round of the new Mijas Sun & Golf Tour was played at La Noria course in La Cala de Mijas.  More than 50 players gathered at this beautiful course to enjoy a competition that is attracting a lot of interest.  Sponsored by the Mijas Town Hall, the initiative of the Mijas Golf Courses Association has already passed through tehc ourses: Chaparral, Miraflores, Cerrado del Águila and La Noria. Next Friday, August 2nd, the competition will be played at the Europa course in La Cala Golf and the grand final will be on Saturday, August 24th, at Los Lagos de Mijas Golf, with the prize giving ceremony at the Hotel La Zambra.  There were prizes in all the par 3's of the course that received a box of San Miguel, collaborating company of the circuit. 

The best classified in each competition get a place in the circuit's final, a circuit that supports women's golf, and the prizes will be vouchers to play next season at the courses that have participated. The experience is proving to be a great success: "we thought it was going to be a pilot experience and we are surprised by the acceptance and participation of golf enthusiasts in Mijas", commented Francisco Jerez, councillor for Tourism (VOX).  The winner of the first category was Francisco Gil, Philippe Frateur, in second, and Juana María Gutiérrez in ladies.  Jeremy Robert won the scratch, and the closest to the pin were Alonso Arroyo, Sergio Díaz, José Andrés Torres and Frank Triest. The next event will be on Friday, 2nd August, at the Europa course in La Cala Resort.
