The Tourism Department organised on Saturday this evening of concerts by the Costa Jazz Quartet, the Red Trio and the Suzette Jazz Quintet

The Jazz Night filled the Miguel González Berral Municipal Auditorium with good music. This is an initiative organised by the Tourism Department of the Mijas Town Hall with the aim of boosting visits to the village and offering more leisure alternatives to locals and tourists. "In Mijas we offer alternatives for people to come and enjoy our surroundings, our restaurants, our shops, in Mijas there is also leisure in addition to: beach, sun, walks through Mijas Pueblo...", said the mayoress of Mijas, Ana Mata (PP), who considered that on summer nights like last Saturday "going up to Mijas means being in a paradise", especially if accompanied by "this music that has many fans".

The councillor for Tourism of the Mijas Town Hall, Francisco Jerez (Vox), explained that "this type of show attracts people both from the municipality and from all over the Costa del Sol". In addition, Jerez wanted to emphasize that the groups that formed the lineup of the Jazz Night are "pretty good": Costa Jazz Quarted, Red Trio and Suzette Jazz Quintet. The vocalist of the latter group, Suzette Moncrief, said that she would be performing standard songs, "the classics from the Bible and the encyclopaedia of jazz", as well as "a little bit of personalised jazz".

For his part, the saxophonist of Costa Jazz Quarter, Jesús Mata, said that his group's repertoire was varied: "traditional jazz standards, a little bit of classical, which is what we usually do; we will also play some Latin tunes and some blues because we know that you have quite an important blues festival and we also wanted to play a couple of love songs for that audience". His band mate, pianist Jacinto Rodríguez, was delighted with the municipal auditorium and the "fabulous reception" they said to have received.

The music of these artists attracted a very enthusiastic audience for this music style. "It is very relaxing, very intuitive and takes you back to special moments", said Marcos Merino, one of the attendees. In addition to the music, the audience also highlighted the venue of this "cool" and "moonlit" Jazz Night.
