La Cala de Mijas hosted the Birra and Art Festival for four days. Thirty-five different types of draught beer from national and international brands, international food stalls and live music were the key ingredients to make this event a success
The first Birra&Art Craft Beer Festival was held from Thursday to Sunday next to the Boulevard in La Cala de Mijas. According to the organiser of the event, José Miguel Macías, "the feedback from the public has been very good, many tourists have attended the event to have dinner, a beer and enjoy the atmosphere".
Breweries from different parts of Spain and abroad took part in the event. Cervezas Marengo and Cervezas Baker's from Mijas, Cervezas Scher Hof from San Pedro, Cervezas Savis from Marbella, La Morena from Madrid, Sagra from Toledo, Odiel from Huelva, Cervezas Bon Vivant from Málaga and the international beer BrewDog from Scotland. A variety that surprised the public.
Just like the beers, the audience was also international.
The mayoress of Mijas, accompanied by a large part of the government team, gave a positive assessment of the event. As she said, "La Cala deserved and was a perfect venue for this event, which has attracted a large public, and is also the prelude to the Euro match, making the event a nice opportunity for Spaniards and English people to connect with each other".
