This is a tourist attraction in Mijas Pueblo where we can see priceless works of art, although the Carromato de Max has become much more, it is one of the most important economic activities for the Association of Relatives and People with Mental Illness of the Costa del Sol, Afesol, whose president told us how significant are fro them the visits to this museum. "The Mijas Town Hall gave it to us so that we could employ all the people with mental health and disabilities in the municipality; we have been expanding this museum little by little with new miniature acquisitions", said Cristian González, president of the association, who added that "all the money raised will is used by Afesol to provide employment and to continue adding pieces to the museum of miniatures".
The miniature of the Virgen de la Peña has its own space here and with a microscope we can also observe the inside of a microchip. Visitors are surprised by the items that can be found here in this peculiar and special museum. "I was really impressed by all the miniature items and the way they are painted", said one visitor, Sara Bizori. "I love how everything is so tiny, I am really enjoying the museum", said another visitor, Ariana Tilve, while another tourist, Adel Sirokova, said that "it's crazy, I think it's incredible how they do things in miniature".
26,196 people visited the museum last year. Six people belonging to the Afesol collective work here and at the Torreón in La Cala de Mijas. "I would like to thank the Mijas Town Hall for their collaboration with us and the continuity of this project", concluded Cristian González, who reminded us that the Carromato can be visited during the summer from 10 to 21 hours.
