The programme Territorio Juventud is back for another summer at El Torreón beach

  • La empresa mijeña Exploramás ofrece nuevamente sus monitores y equipos para desarrollar estas actividades.

There will be free kayak and paddle surf trips and beach volleyball lessons every Friday and Saturday afternoon during July and August

One more summer, the Youth Department of Mijas Town Hall will offer during July and August an alternative leisure and sporting activity for young people and, in general, for families. Territorio Juventud is back on the beach of El Torreón in La Cala, a programme of free sports activities on the seashore, which will take place every Friday and Saturday afternoon, from 17:00 to 20:00.

Children, young people and families will be able to enjoy free kayaking and paddle surfing, as well as playing beach volleyball, always accompanied by qualified instructors of the company Exploramás from Mijas. "These activities are always very popular, very appealing, and for the days when there are waves or bad weather and you can't go into the sea, the instructors will organise other games to have fun during the afternoon", said the Councillor for Youth, Mari Francis Alarcón (PP).

To participate, those interested must register in advance through the website www.experiencias.es or by accessing the QR code that Juventud Mijas has already published on its social media. "Registration will open every week, every Wednesday morning, and you can choose the day and the shift that works best for you", added the councillor, also recalling that this programme is aimed at children from 8 years and older "although minors must be accompanied by an adult", she clarified.

Youth offers 20 places for each activity and for each shift, also providing all the equipment needed. "Participants should only come wanting to have fun, because the instructors will explain the activity and provide all the necessary materials", said Alarcón, "and we also have the lifeguards nearby in case there are any problems, although this has never been the case".

The councillor encouraged residents and visitors to take part in this initiative, " that will surely be very well received again because they are very entertaining and are held by the sea, enjoying the good weather and the children's holidays".
