On Thursday 27th, the Las Lagunas Fair faced the second of its five days of festivities in which the protagonists were the longest-lived people in the town. More than 1,100 people from Las Lagunas took part in the traditional celebratory dinner for the elderly organised by the Mijas Town Hall at the María Zambrano School. The seniors were welcomed by the municipal corporation and the board of festivities and were gifted with flower pots that they found on the table. During the dinner, they enjoyed the performances of María José Bueno's dance group and after dessert the group Cenachero played. One of the most awaited moments was when the grandfather and grandmother of the fair were chosen by lottery, going to Diego Martel Fernández and María del Carmen Maldivo Vallejo. In the Municipal Booth, Demarco Flamenco, dance performances, Dimitri's magic and the children's king and queen were the main elements for a good time. The activity in the booth started early in the morning with the children's party and the show of the magician Dimitri. After the show, the students of the seven dance groups of Anamari Tineo's academy arrived and performed a variety of styles ranging from flamenco to urban dance.
As in the case of the elderly, one of the most awaited moments for the young attendees and their families was the drawing of the children's and baby king and queen of the fair. This year the children's king is Manuel Ordóñez Rueda; the queen Sofía Minaya Moro and her companions are José Pastor García (first court of honour), Adrián Jiménez (second court of honour), Daniela Guerrero (first lady) and Camila Vereda (second lady). In the baby category the elected queen and king were Cloe Carrera Ramos and Ala A El Ghiabi. With the king and queen crowned, dancing was back on the stage, this time with the Aprende y Baila academy of Evelyn Bravo and her students, who offered a complete exhibition. The grand finale was performed by Demarco Flamenco, who presented his latest album in a style fused with pop. The booth was closed by the orchestra A-Compás. In addition, there were musical performances in the Youth Stand, which kicked off with the presentation of sporting prizes.
